Ich versuchte, der Musik mit den Ohren des James Joyces zu folgen. Wenn man den Kopf richtig dreht keine schlechte Sache, ja eine Musik, die einem viel Freude bereitet, auch wenn es mal Fehler hageln sollte.<\/p>\n
Trotzdem dachte ich die ganze Zeit an Joyce selbst und an die Sirenenpassage, wie sie von Cathy Berberian auf einer meiner ersten Platte gesungen wurde (von Lucanio Berio dirigiert etc.), so eben, wie es immer nur auf ersten Platten getan wird, dass man sie das ganze Leben im Ohr hat. Und t\u00f6nt die Stelle nicht so, dass sie wie ein Lehrst\u00fcck auch f\u00fcr Captain Beefheart gehalten werden kann, als ob aus ihrem Rhythmus nicht viele St\u00fccke von ihm selbst abgeleitet werden k\u00f6nnten?
